Since I decided to skip my original plan of streaming early this week but want to do something that strikes that productivity itch. I'm going to do this blog a little early. So happy 6/9 everyone. Got some good news which will hopefully alleviate some of the bad news I keep going through as of late.
Videos and Streams
As of today, the finale of my Golden Sun Dawn of Djinn playthrough has gone up.
With that, I'll be easing up on video uploads for a bit. Starting off with an edited version of the Kirby Dreamland playthrough I streamed next week, and then taking some time off from videos to pan out the next phase for my channel. There will still be Youtube Shorts on Sundays, streams when I feel up to it, and a single Pokemon XG video in the time-frame of June. But beyond all that, I'm taking a break, maybe even the first week of July if I feel like I need it. Again, Pokemon XG takes a lot of time and energy to edit so I'll need to build up a backlog of edited videos if I hope to upload even two videos every week, now that Dawn of Djinn is done. Plus I'm still considering something brand new to add into the upload routine and if I do go through with it, it'll be the most time-consuming project I've done for Youtube yet.
Oh yeah, and a new Game N Chill for the month will be going up tomorrow, I'll edit it in for anyone who reads the blog late but for now just stay tuned for the Youtube channel.
On the stream end, I'm still working on finishing up the Pikmin playthrough. Some rough times as of late with streaming is making it take longer than planned, but even if I don't stream this week I do still expect at least finishing that before the end of the month. Pikmin 1 is not that big of a game, my strive for perfectionism just makes it seem longer than it actually is.
Golden Sun Dawn of Djinn
So I released a demo of Dawn of Djinn Second Mix. Technically to the public, but since I don't want to make a huge deal out of it, it's news you've likely missed unless you look close at the video description of the latest Dawn of Djinn video.
You can find more detail about it on the Golden Sun moding forums....

Or just read over the Readme once you've downloaded the file...

Even if you've played V1 of Dawn of Djinn, I still feel it's worth checking out since there's many new elements to enemies and abilities. Plus majority of Djinn, Djinn charms, and classes are different from version 1. That alone makes it feel like it's own beast.
Also I might as well, use this moment to squeeze in the fact that I've slowly have been revisiting Sweet Expedition and do plan to eventually finish it. It probably won't have nearly as much to it as I originally planned and it's very possible I could burn out again before I finish it. So I don't plan to give any updates until it's finished (gotta lower the jynxing as much as possible), but it's not quite dead yet. Probably will be the last thing I do with Paper Mario modding, but I do have enough drive currently to at least finish what I started.
Mis
TBH I'm a bit bitter about the week despite the good news, due to some crummy outings. Like taking an entire day off work to make a doctor's appointment the other day, just to miss it and the final chapter of the used game store madness. So I actually took two days off this week for doctor's appointments and the second of those two appointments was today. Thankfully I actually was able to find the office for this one and at least get that sorted out. So since I was close enough to the area, I decided to finally return the broken video game I got (for the second time in a row) and that was a mess in of itself.
Despite selling me a broken game, not once, but twice, they would not refund my money and the best they would offer was store credit or exchange. Frustration empathized by the fact the last time I did an exchange I actually ended up paying more money because the store's option's for games was so narrow. So after throwing my arms up in frustration and much pondering... I decided to trade in the broken game for a copy of Sonic Advance 3. Not a bad choice, especially since it was the exact value of the broken game, but nothing compared to the game I actually wanted to have or just getting my darn money back.
On the brightside, I made them actually test the game this time and it worked, and I tried it once I got home and it worked. So I FINALLY got a working video game at least, but I'm definitely never going back to that store again, and maybe I'd just be better off getting my older games digitally. Just saying if Nintendo were to randomly drop Diddy Kong Racing on NSO I might actually forgive them for dropping Virtual Console, as that alone would take away a lot of the heartache of thinking I would finally get to play the OG Diddy Kong Racing like back in my childhood... only to have that joy taken away when I found out that they sold me a second broken video game.
The good news about that outing was the lunch I bought was good and I finally found a place that bought and sold Pokemon cards. Shame I didn't actually bring my cards with me so I could finally sell some duplicates taking up space, but at least now I have a place to go. At least hopefully I do and the truma from Wednesday's outing just trying to find a doctor's office didn't scare me out of ever going out in public again.
I just found out they released a new series of Pokemon cards so I picked out a pack to open for the fun of it, and I also found a neat looking Umbreon card, so I decided to pick it up since they didn't have any induvial cards of any sets I was interested in. So I think showing off that will be a nice way to end off the blog...
