Well, I said I wouldn't stream Saturday night to focus on recording instead, but despite the better mood from last week, I couldn't really get into the mindset to even do that so now I feel guilty. I decided to start drafting out the weekly blog Saturday and finish it Sunday to try and make up for the slacking off. :P
Let me summarize cause I can already tell I'm gonna ramble this blog:
No stream this week, plan was to use that time to record but I botched that, ending up burning that time messing around with Dawn of Djinn and chilling with other games. Hopefully I can squeeze some recording time tomorrow to make up for that.
I was feeling better this week than the past couple weeks, so if all continues to go well maybe I'll do a causal Legends stream Saturday to try and get back into it. Still gonna play it by ear though.
Videos for May are essentially all set, nothing too crazy compared to April (see streams and videos for more details)
Much to my surprise, I actually worked on Dawn of Djinn this week.
Still essentially on hiatus with Sweet Expedition, but cool stuff is going on in the Paper Mario modding scene as a whole.
Overall mostly a week I spend my spare time just causally playing games, I'm impressed I got anything else done all things considered.
Streams and videos
Feels like a bit of an off week here because of what I mentioned on the top. I've been feeling weird about streaming for the past few weeks. Ironically enough I felt more up to it this week than past weeks but I ultimately decided to pass since the new month is coming up and I like to have a Game and Chill ready for next week... and then I stopped feeling up to commentating and couldn't even get into the mindset to do that. Hopefully I'm not completely done with streaming I literally bought a new capture card to try and reduce stream delay so I would be more cool with doing console streams right before I had that depressive state.
I've just been in a weird place because past few weeks I wasn't sure what I even wanted to stream, even when I was feeling out of it. Been really iffy about streaming games out of my comfort zone, but I've gotten to comfortable streaming stuff related to modded games, so when I was conflicted about streaming those sort of games, I kind of left myself with no games "in my comfort zone" to play. Hopefully I'll have a good week next week, and finally be ready to get back to streaming. Still not certain what I'll play but I can at least fall back on Pokémon Legends next week, assuming I do the Game and Chill recording this week.
Hopefully I actually get around to recording tomorrow, because I also finished editing the last of my Pokemon XG recording this week and I was hoping to finally get back to playing that so I would have more to edit. The good news is I'm so ahead of my backlog that even if I weren't to make videos on it for the rest of the month, I would still be able to upload a video every week of it. So the need to have a recording session is more for having something to edit when I feel up to editing rather than actually needing it to keep up.
In fact, minus Youtube shorts I've been procrastinating and the Game and Chill for the month, all videos for May are done. (It says there's a Dawn of Djinn video pending. But I'm pretty sure I've uploaded it already, I just have to schedule when the upload goes public.)

Modding/Game Creation
I'll be honest, I started the week still a bit unsure with modding as a whole so from the start of the week I was all set to say I go nothing done with Dawn of Djinn. But then found myself fiddling around with it by the end of the week and making some decent progress with it. I'll just leave it at that for this week. It'll probably be much more interesting if I wait a week and then talk about all my progress at once.
But yeah, I think I'm gonna fiddle around with Dawn of Djinn until I finish it (or Nintendo asks me to stop) but just not talk too much about it publicly. I checked the numbers of views on these blogs and I think its small enough to consider it private for now. Pretty much everything minus the currently ongoing LP has been made unlisted/private for now and deleted vods. I'd probably do that with the LP too if it wasn't for the fact I was still uploading videos of it. Again, I doubt I'm big enough for anyone to care, but after some of the current events I've seen, I'm reminded that I probably got a little too comfortable and forgot about the risks of it all.
Not sure what I'm gonna do with Sweet Expedition for now. Between Paper Mario and Golden Sun, the later definitely gets less love and it's the game I'm more interested in so I don't really feel bad with focusing on it. The inner drama kind of made me wonder if messing with Paper Mario is even worth it considering it's still a fairly active series, even if they haven't really done much with the classic formula in years. Plus the decomp has been completely finished for it and they even have a new editor made to capitalize on it. So even with everything else aside, there's a little bit of confliction between starting over with the easier to understand language or finishing off what I have cause I've put so much work into it already. Heck, I understand so little, that maybe I don't even need to start over to start using the new stuff. Haven't been motivated enough to even look into it yet. It is cool stuff though and definitely gonna lead the way to stuff way better than what I'd do with Paper Mario. So I got no quams to waiting until I feel up to working on Sweet Expedition again and focus on Dawn of Djinn in the meantime.
Mis
It's been a weird week as it definitely feels like I've been taking it easier this week and actually playing other games. For example, I decided to go back to Pokemon Black 2 and play along with Chuggaaconroy's LP of it. Dang, I forgot just how good that game was. Heck, I forgot how good Pokemon as a whole could be until playing it again. Partly bias, partly cause working with sprites is probably easier than 3D models, but dang, these old games have so much life and personality to them. I forgot how smooth the animations for all the Pokemon where in battles and the fact the trainers have animations at the start of battle too? Beautiful! Lots of fun Pokemon to play around with right at the start. I did remember that this was the game that seemed to finally nail down having good variety in the routes and it certainly showed while playing. Also got so used to breezing through Pokemon games that I was caught a bit off guard at the beginning of it. Even whited out a couple times in the first route. Haven't ran into anything like that once I got into the swing of things though. I'm just before the second badge, though considering my team I don't think that'll be too much of a problem when I finally get around to sitting back down with it.
I also discovered that instead of going to a retail store, I could just order Pokemon cards online. So it was nice knowing you while I did outside world but now I have zero motivation to leave the house outside of walks in the part. I didn't want you in my life anyways society. :P Jokes aside, I kind of needed a break after my attempt at an outing last week so it's nice to have that option when I want it.
Speaking of cards. I decided to finally actually try playing TGC instead of just using the app to collect cards virtually as well as physically. And if you couldn't tell by the fact I did that instead of recording Game N Chill, I had a good time with it. I decided to use the default Regielecti deck, since I haven't played the card games since gen 1 and probably had no idea what I was doing... after a few games though I think I got the hang of the deck's gimmicks and had fun with them. Would love to tweek it with the virtual cards I've collected but I don't think I'm experienced enough to do that quite yet.
Oh, almost forgot. It was a Community Day classic in Pokemon Go today and considering I basically skipped Togetic day and just shiny checked at home, I figured "why not?" and when out to play for a bit. Had some nice shiny luck for about an hour and half of gameplay; getting 14 shiny Swinub including two I've already transferred to Pokemon Home, including a XXS one. Again, not a fan of XX_ Pokémon because of all the extra delays they add to my gameplay, but I'll admit it is fun to get a shiny one on community days.
And I'm sure I've played other games too, I've bounced around a lot between NSO and mods on my off time. Played a bit more of Banjo-Kazzoie, finishing up Bubble Gloop swamp, though I still have to backtrack to Clanker's Cavern once I find it. It's supposed to be the 3rd world but I definitely haven't found it yet in my natural exploring. I forget it if it was this week or last week, but I also finally beat my first full round of Pokemon Emerald Rouge.
I'd post some screenshots of all of this, but this blog is long as is, I'm up later than planned to finish this, I kind of just want to finish and post this now so I can say "I may not of recorded tonight but I did get this blog done." So take care.
