Hey everyone. While I'm still trying to catch-up on podcasts and things. I do have some plans sorted out 2020 ready to share.
First and foremost, I'm throwing my Janurary grab bag up the first full week of Janurary to buy me a bit more time to finish editing content to upload for this month since I'll probably be spending the time I do have off for the rest of 2019 relaxing and/or hanging out with family.
It's going to be a little bit different than previous grab bag weeks, since it'll have a mix of non-commentary Pokémon Go battle videos and the typical Mario Maker stuff. See the YouTube calendar for more details. A big reason for this is I'm trying to make grab bag weeks easier on me going forward by favoring 2-3 larger videos that feature multiple levels over 4-6 small single level videos. This way just feels more efficient since I don't have to do multiple renders, edit the descriptions of multiple videos, etc. for essentially the same amount of content. So I want to play around with it more.
While I'm off tangent talking about content beyond LPs. I'm still sticking to my current goal of at least two podcasts a month but try to keep the podcast feed active on a weekly basis. The audio commentary of my PvP battles seem to be a nice hit, so I'm going to keep doing that whenever I have battle commentaries to share. When I have nothing else, I'll probably continue to fill out the remaining weeks with Game N' Chill audio. I already shoot to make those videos once a week and I basically just need to exact the commentary file to turn it into something usable for audio platforms, it should be simple enough to use for off weeks. Since I'm going to have at least two original updates to the podcast every month, along with battle commentaries on months I take part in a tournament, I should have more than plenty of Game 'N Chill commentaries to pick from and use for podcast listeners.
That reminds me, Pokémon Go's official battle league is coming up in 2020 and while I want to get a feel for it and see how recording it would fit in my schedule before promising making content for that, it is something I'm curious in trying at the moment. So if it does work out I'll have to give another update to see how it fits in the schedule.
Once we're done with Grab bag week, I'm gonna resume Let's Plays. As much as I want to jump right back into Celeste, I have to acknowledge that those videos are going to take much more time edit now we are in the post-game and B-sides. So while I do have a couple videos already edited, I'm going to take a break and start up a new 1st Thru. It's already all recorded and it should be simpler to edit than Celeste. On paper, I finish editing this series well before I'm done releasing it, resume editing Celeste, getting at least the most tricky videos to edit done before the next 1st Thru finishes, and I can gauge how much time I need between videos and work an upload schedule for it around that.
The 1st Thru will be of a short game and I don't really want it to take more than two months. I'm so excited to get back to Celeste I'm tempted to spend only a month releasing it. So I'm currently sticking to the normal Wednesday Let's Play slot for now. But if I feel like I'm ready to get back to Celeste sooner I may upload sooner. I'm really gonna play it by ear, because I really try to keep a pace fair on me with the upload schedule. So if I want to do more of the 1st Thru in a week, I'm concern I'll have to sacrifice one of the upload slots of something else I'm doing fairly constantly and enjoying. So that's why I'm sticking to once a week for now, but don't be surprised if I adjust the upload schedule out of the blue to get the 1st Thru up quicker. But you'll be able to see the changes to the schedule as I make them live on my calandar on the homepage. And if I sense a major change to the schedule I'll be sure to make another blog post.
Thank you for all of you who continue to support me. Looking forward to having some fun going into 2020.
