The good news is I have a long weekend, the "bad news" is that it's been flying by really fast. Feels like I'm forgetting some things, but I figured I might as well throw what I can. Can't even recall any major video progress I've made this week. Most of my eventful stuff has been tied to the fan game work I've been working on. So I'm sure I'm forgetting about things but might as well post what I can remember.
Golden Sun
Amazingly enough I've actually worked on Dawn of Djinn this week. Not just on the random summon side project that'll likely tie into it but work on the actual version 2 itself. Nothing that interesting to talk about, mostly just copying over moves from version 1 into version 2. But that's still a huge step forward as the moves have to be implemented before I can start implementing basically anything else. Hopefully I can do more progress in the future without completing stopping progress on Sweet Expedition.
Paper Mario
I've been a bit all over the place as I'm still conflicted between holding off on new content until I release a version that "fixes" the initial Game Jam release and working on making new things anyways. (If I "accidently" make new content that I want to save for a more final release then that's fine as far as I'm concern because it just means less of a wait between the "game jam fix" and the more final release anyways.)
I've done a bit more work on the NPC to trade Star Candy in this mod and that's made me do a lot of tangents that spawned the new content I was considering waiting till later on. Things like new moves and other stuff tying to the Star Candies.
On a completely other note, I messed around with trying to fix up partner moves a bit last week and I finally figured out how to get an explosion effect for Goombario's new move... ...I think it was simpler than I was making it out to be. But it was a hyped moment when I figured out what it was... (So now it's a lot more apparent that it does explosion damage when you get the Action Command than it was in the Game Jam release.)
